Vault 44

Entered via the Mt. Rushmore construction-office tunnel in Session 1. Contains the cloning/gestation labs, three Assessment Chambers, the vault's main foyer, and sealed residential/office areas. The party exits onto the unfinished face of Eisenhower's carving.

On a solo return trip, Johan finds a section of wall punched outward in a perfect circle — folded rather than broken, as if peeled back. Dust and sound both move wrong near it (dust hangs too long; sound arrives a fraction of a second late, as if traveling around a corner that isn't there). Through it: an entirely different cloning chamber from the one any player emerged from, stripped completely bare, with nothing left to explain who did it or when. Passing through leaves Johan woozy and off-balance for the rest of that session.
